The Moomin Ice Cave is located under the hotel in a stone cave where the temperature is always around -3°C. The cave can be reached by lift, which is located next to the hotel reception.
How to dress:
We recommend warm clothes, such as a winter jacket or overcoat, a hat and gloves. Winter clothing will also make the descent more comfortable. Changing rooms where you can change into winter clothes are located next to the ice cave. Lighter clothes can be left in lockable lockers.
Accessibility and access:
The ice cave is easily accessible by trolley, stroller, wheelchair or wheelchair. The exhibition area is flat and carpeted. The slide area is accessible without barriers, but an assistant may be needed for those with limited mobility to get down the hill.
Activities:
Sledges, slides and Snow Tube slides for downhill skiing are available.
All-day ticket:
The ticket is valid all day - you can leave for a meal or a swim, for example, and return at no extra charge.

The Moomins and the Great Flood tells the story of how Moomintroll and Moominmamma set out to find the adventurous Moominpappa, who has gone off exploring. Their journey begins in a dark forest, where they meet a new friend, Sniff, and narrowly escape the clutches of a threatening snake. While fleeing the flood, they discover light and warmth in unexpected places, such as from a creature named Tulippa, and bravely continue onward.
The journey becomes increasingly dangerous as the great flood carries them deeper into the unknown. Aboard the Hattifatteners’ boat, they are at the mercy of a storm, putting their determination to the test. In the end, they find Moominpappa and are swept by the floodwaters to a small valley, which becomes their new home—Moominvalley. This magical adventure marked the beginning of the Moomins’ long and beloved story, which continues to thrive even today.
